Choosing The Right Heated Cat Bed For Your Pet Cat

If the area you live in gets very cold during the wintertime, then having a heated bed for your pet cat may be a good idea, especially if you do not want kitty climbing into bed with you. Heated cat beds provide a warm place for your pet cat to sleep in the wintertime. It is important that your pet cat does not get chilled in colder weather; remember- a cat catching a cold is a whole lot more serious than a human getting a cold.

There are a number of different sizes, styles and brand names of pet beds. Some, such as the Dolce Vita cat bed and PetSafe Wellness sleeper, cost over a hundred dollars, but you do not need to pay that much to get a decent heated pet bed. EZ Pet mart presently has a few brand names for sale that cost an affordable $30 or so, and a number of other ones are in the $30 – $40 range. If it gets very hot in the summer time, there are even interchangeable pet beds such as Snuggly Sleeper’s Heated and Cooling Pet Bed, that will keep your pet warm in the winter and cool in the summer; this particular bed costs $100.

An alternative to heated cat beds are heated pet mats. These range in type from very simple mats up to fancier, more expensive ones. In fact, a number of these cost more than most heated cat beds, but they do not necessarily have to. You can get one of K&H’s Thermo-Kitty Fashion Splash Heated Cat Mats for only $25 and there are a number of colors to choose from. This same brand name makes heated pet pads, which are simpler and plainer, in the range of $20 – $22. You may find that your cat does not like to sleep in an actual bed and these can be a good alternative. Alternatively, perhaps these could be gotten in conjunction with a cat bed if you cat prefers to use them during the day and only sleep in its bed at night. Cats are all different and what one likes, another may not.

If you travel a lot and are concerned about your cat not getting chilled in the car, there are heated cargo beds for pets that you can buy to ensure that you pet stays warm and safe while you travel. They cost in the range of $95 – $135, depending on where you buy them.
